The FOR2036 Research Group at their 2015 Meeting in Obergurgl (Austria) from April 12-15, 2015




The first annual retreat of the FOR2036 DACH group took place at the Universitätszentrum of the University of Innsbruck in Obergurgl, Tirol, Austria. The current status and the development of the different FOR2036 projects was presented by PhD students and postdocs involved in these projects. Next to FOR2036 members also scientists from Glasgow, Munich and Freiburg participated at this retreat and presented their research. The FOR2036 retreat was supported by the presence and advice of the members of the advisory board, Andreas Strasser from the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne, Jean-Claude Martinou from the University of Geneva, and Markus Rehm from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. As a special guest the organizers invited Marion MacFarlane from the MRC Toxicology Unit in Leicester, who reported about her latest research on death receptor signaling. The meeting also involved a round table discussion about women in science and career development, and an open discussion round to exchange ideas, tools and techniques amongst students and postdocs.
